Energy Terms Glossary
You can read the terms more easily with the glossary we created for the descriptions and use areas of energy terms, as well as the calculation methods.
System Marginal Price
It is the bid price corresponding to the net order volume determined by taking into account all the orders given in regard to the balancing energy market, starting from the lowest bid price for load input if the system’s direction indicates energy deficit, or the highest bid price for load rejection if the system’s direction indicates energy surplus.
System Sales Order
It is a notification, which is sent by the system operator or the Market Operator to the market participants who participate in the day-ahead balancing activities, for system sales of such participants.
System Sales Proposal Price
It is the unit price requested by the market participants who participate in the day-ahead balancing activities, for sales to the system.
System Sales Proposal Amount
It is the amount of production increase or consumption reduction that the market participants who participate in the day-ahead balancing activities propose to make in the relevant balancing unit.
Request Check
It refers to the services carried out by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ) and users according to the principles set out in the Electrical Grid Regulation in order to reduce demand in case of insufficient production capacity.
Demand Forecasting
It refers to the hourly consumption forecasts published daily by the system operator.
Order Label
It is a variable used by the system operator to determine the purpose of giving load input or load rejection orders to market participants in the day-ahead planning and/or balancing energy market.
Supplier
It refers to the production companies that supply electrical energy and/or capacity and the companies that hold a supply license.

Proposal Area
It is the smallest topological transmission system area where large-scale transmission restrictions are expected at the connection points of the transmission system that constitute its boundaries.
Security Level
It refers to the facility, grid or equipment that is used or ready to be used for generating, transmitting or distributing electrical energy.
Facility
It refers to the facility, grid or equipment that is used or ready to be used for generating, transmitting or distributing electrical energy.

Trading Limits
These limits refer to the maximum hourly permissible transmission capacity limits for trading electricity, excluding the transmission capacity that is not allowed to be used for technical, security or similar reasons between proposal areas.
